This Carnival: Weekend Wanderings.
As you all know, I am such a fiend for dinning out. Dining out is an absolute must because it brings good food and good friends to one spot. How awesome is that!!!
This past weekend, my friend Lissa and I rolled into Abu Dhabi and had a delicious lunch a Itlaianissimo on Al Reem Island. The restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the luxe Sun & Sky Tower Complex. It was such a treat. OK, call me a nut for having a huge cup of delicious hot chocolate at the start of a Middle East Summer but I couldn't resist. Look at the gorgeous design and I can't properly describe the rich flavor of chocolate. It was a warm smooth treat just enough to prepare my palate for what was to come.
I am such a fan of Alfredo but I was duly informed by our handsome Italian waiter that Alfredo is not an original Italian dish but a subsequent dish created for American tastes. Good information to know. So, he prepared a special dish for me that included rich cheeses, mushrooms, and a cream base to die for. He also added grilled chicken which made the dish exact. My mouth was overwhelmed with flavor and species of raw perfection.
We also had a bread basket of all bread baskets....
The lunch ended with the bill brought in this cute little basket. My goodness, it's cuteness overload.
My weekend wanderings were swell. I loved the great find in Abu Dhabi - Italianissimo.
