The Dress; Redefined

I have finally found a seat. It's a temporary seat but it's a seat nonetheless. The past few weeks were a total whirlwind; last minute packing, preparing my house for the new residents, having intermittent access to a car, then traveling to DC. I've finally settled down but I am officially out of here on August 7 at 2:53 pm. I arrive in Abu Dhabi on August 8 at 7:30 pm.

Throughout this transition, I realized that I needed to redefine the blog and purpose for writing (many of my blogger peeps are going through this as well).

I am not a fashion blogger and never pretended to be. My days on social media began on diet/health message boards, then BlackVoices, then blogging. I happened upon a style blog in 2005 or so in which a Caucasian lady with red, then blonde, then red hair use to post her outfits throughout the week. From her blog, I happened upon Ms. Budget Chic. I thought the two of them we the most innovative and stylish by bringing something new to the internet. Ms. Budget Chic did a feature on Fashion Du Jour and Fashionista Next Door, then I become hooked on fashion blogs. From there, I frequented more fashion blogs, started attending fashion events, and developed a ton of valuable friendships. Thus the alignment with fashion blogs.

Her Perfect Black Dress is a symbol of female diaspora. It speaks to revelations, creations, relationships, health, and fashion too. I am a writer who took a slight detour through the field of education. My core speaks to print media and this is what I shall follow. You guys have been abundantly supportive of every post, every invitation, and even in my transition to Abu Dhabi.

I thank you with all that I have.

Now, stay tuned....I'm clearing my throat so that you may hear my real voice.

Can I go with you?! No, seriously I wish you the best! I can't wait to see what's next for HPBD-Abu Dhabi Edition!

I wish you the best and can't wait to hear about your experience. Safe travels and congratulations on a big change.

Best wishes to you! I hope you have a wonderful experience.

And it is definitely okay to redefine. ;)

Awww....what a great post. Good luck to you in your endeavors and I can't wait to see how you redefine your "voice"

Can't wait to hear about you new adventures!!!im going to be living vicariously through you!

Awww shucks! I can't wait to hear that new voice!! As humans, we are constantly evolving--so it stands to reason that our creative projects, like our blogs, will do that as well. What matters is that you recognize it and always try and be on track with what rings true for you and the reason why you blog. Looking forward to the redefinition :-).
