Home and Garden; Outdoor Design

One of the greatest things about warmer weather is enjoying it. There are a wealth of activities outside of the home such as garden parties, concerts, parks, and biking, but the home is also a wonderful summer retreat. Creating an inviting atmosphere, an oasis of the sorts, is the foundation for home enjoyment. Revamping your outdoor space can be accomplished with minimal costs and a bit of sweat equity, here's how:

1. Clean the outside space by pressure washing services or with an acceptable cleaning tool.

2. Update plants and natural elements.

3. Add or update lighting

4. Incorporate or refresh outdoor seating.

5. Include bug repellent to maximize time outside.

Lastly, ensure that the outdoor space has elements for all family members to enjoy. Entertaining at home during warmer seasons is cost effective and fun.

What have you done to your outdoor space this season?

I managed to work on my front yard flower beds AND get them finished! LOL, I always seem to start but end up leaving something undone.
I now have to work on my patio. New table and chairs are in order and I think i'll line it with some strings of light and add some colorful, floral-like pics to the privacy fence. THanks for the got me thinking!

We are in the planning stages of our backyard remodel....I am soooo excited about it!

We're trying to create some type of oasis on our small patio area. So far we've pressure washed the and added a few plants. I really want a new hammock and hang clear lights.

Hugs and Mocha,

sigh. I got a table for the's a start right????

Oooh I really enjoyed this post, I love anything like this!

I love the outdoor style of the last photo! I need to update my space with a more modern patio set.

Miss Roberts, you've done a lot. I would love to see your pics.

@Tarsha - I hope you chronicle the progress on your blog.

@Stesha - I'd love a hammock. I fell out of one before so it's now a permanent no go. LOL

@RD - Yes it's a start. There were a few cute sets at Home Depot.

@ Lea - A pretty outdoor space is lovely isn't it?

@FP, I don't have anything but those backpack chairs...just shameful lol
