Today will be a day of shopping to spend a gift card that I received for Macy's.
Giving gift cards is a trend among friends, families, and co-workers. Gift cards eliminate that stress of searching for the right gift, the size, the color, and the time. Gift cards offer a practical alternative for many people. Gift card givers have the option of giving a specialty card to the person's favorite store or restaurant. My favorite speciality gift card is a Starbucks card. During the holidays and for my birthday, I typically get tons of Starbucks cards. (I don't think I could ever have enough Starbucks gift cards). Though Starbucks gift cards are my favorite, I love the flexibility of the Visa or American Express gift cards. I've purchased everything from groceries, gas, clothes, and even gotten a massage.
What are your favorite gift cards?
What do you use your gift cards for?

Different strokes for different folks when it comes to dieting. There are some lucky ducks in the world who are able to consume, whatever, whenever yet maintain good health and wellness. Then, there's the rest of us. Many people have to follow a specific diet coupled with exercise to have it going on health and an sexy body attractive appearance.
As we age, our metabolism changes and we must adapt our lifestyles accordingly. For some with specific health conditions, lifestyles are acutely adapted to maintain health and an attractive appearance (there's a recurring theme).
Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) often have insulin resistance which makes them (us) very sensitive to carbs. We have to maintain a low carb diet in order to stabilize blood sugar, weight, and the awful side of effects of the disease. With that, selecting foods that mimic some of our favorites is essential for sanity normalcy.
One of the biggest NO NO's with PCOS is a large consumption of bread. The whites (bread, pasta, potatoes) greatly and negatively impact blood sugar which in turn impacts weight, appearance, and overall health.
Because I love hamburgers so much, I couldn't dare cut this item from my diet, therefore, I found an alternative; low carb buns made with Wal-Mart brand premade sliders. (I don't think I used the Wal-Mart one in this picture).
Eat up and enjoy.

"If I don't float your boat, feel free to sail in other waters", Dr. Reginia, 2011
Relationships are a part of life and living. We enter into relationships within the early stages of our lives. As with many things, some relationships end with or without fault. However, we sometimes pack our bags and remain in the same house.
Why?
Fear of living, lack of resources, or an incomplete plan. However, when we remain in relationships that are OVER, we place ourselves and the ones around us in a state of misery. Misery loves company and that company isn't swell. We have to use our intuition and common sense to know when to let things go. Sailing in calm waters strokes the soul much better than turbulence.

Friendships and relationships come and go. Renewal is a part of living. However, what happens when we pack our bags but continue to say in the same house. What is the variable that's preventing us to leave? Fear? Lack of resources? Unfinished plan? Whatever the variable may be, it always best to break through that barrier. Why? Misery festers. Remaining in a place or situation that is no longer working for you is counterproductive. Therefore, set sail in other waters...your soul will appreciate it.
